Minneapolis Central Library
Minneapolis Public Library was founded in 1885 and opened in the city’s first public library building on 10th Street and Hennepin Avenue in 1889. In 1961, a larger and more modern building was constructed on the current location. A new building opened in 2006 and houses the largest collection of items in the Hennepin County Library system.
